The proposed 6 storey concrete building is a market Rental and Condominium community to replace five small single-family houses along the busy Marine Drive in Vancouver, BC. Designed for an area surrounded by new residential multifamily projects to the west, east and north, and by existing commercial and industrial land uses to the south, the proposed new project is comprised of two buildings. One, the market condominium building, wraps around the smaller massing, the rental portion.
As a community-minded building, we have included a children’s play area, socialization
areas and a courtyard design to facilitate neighbourly exchange. Integration and community are key to the project.
Taking cues from the busy Marine Drive, and the proximity to the Fraser River, the design incorporates a slightly nautical aesthetic.
